The design of this ring is inspired by the family arms of the commissioner, the colors of which are "Or", "Argent", and "Gules", with a touch of "Azure" (Gold/Yellow, Silver/White, Red, & Blue.)
Bands of 14K Yellow Gold edge the central band of Sterling Silver, and a 0.65 carat cabochon Ruby is set in a 14K Yellow Gold bezel. (Azure is represented by the blue velvet presentation box.) As the commissioner has a strong interest in historical authenticity, the band of the ring is shaped by forging and the marks are not planished out. A cabochon ruby is also appropriate for the period. |
